Strength, Speed and Spirit: Pointe Larue Secondary's Inter House Showdown
The atmosphere at Stad Popiler was electric yesterday, 03rd April 2025, as Pointe Larue Secondary School hosted its annual Sports Day. The event was a vibrant showcase of athletic prowess, school spirit, and unexpected triumphs that left everyone in attendance buzzing with excitement.
The day kicked off with the much-anticipated fierce competition with the different events such as the following:
- Boys/Girls under 14 & 16: 100M-200M-400M with sir Wamuwi and sir Omari
- Boys/Girls under 14 & 16: Long Jump and High Jump with sir Geoffrey & sir Hollanda
- Another triumph from the Boys/Girls under 14 & 16: Shot Put with sir Frankie
The girls' 100-meter race was just as exciting. Known mainly for her dedication with the skill, Norita Jean Baptiste, s3 set 2 student (Mars house) surprised everyone by winning first place with a sudden burst of speed. Her triumph demonstrated her adaptability and tenacity.
The students' camaraderie was evident throughout the day. There was a strong emphasis on sportsmanship, whether it was through teammates thanking one another or friends applauding from the stands. In addition to planning the event, teachers and staff were crucial in inspiring and assisting the students.
It became evident by the end of the competition that it was a memorable day because of the record-breaking performances, unexpected victories, and the collective school spirit made it a day to cherish.
