Strength, Speed and Spirit: Pointe Larue Secondary's Inter House Showdown

The atmosphere at Stad Popiler was electric yesterday, 03rd April 2025, as Pointe Larue Secondary School hosted its annual Sports Day. The event was a vibrant showcase of athletic prowess, school spirit, and unexpected triumphs that left everyone in attendance buzzing with excitement.




The day kicked off with the much-anticipated fierce competition with the different events such as the following:
  • Boys/Girls under 14 & 16: 100M-200M-400M with sir Wamuwi and sir Omari






  • Boys/Girls under 14 & 16: Long Jump and High Jump with sir Geoffrey & sir Hollanda
  • Another triumph from the Boys/Girls under 14 & 16: Shot Put with sir Frankie


The girls' 100-meter race was just as exciting. Known mainly for her dedication with the skill, Norita Jean Baptiste, s3 set 2 student (Mars house) surprised everyone by winning first place with a sudden burst of speed. Her triumph demonstrated her adaptability and tenacity.

With the intensity of the events and the high energy of the day, the presence of the RED CROSS team, our S5 students headed by Ms. Roseline was very crucial to ensure everyone's safety. 



Quick medical attention was essential for treating minor injuries like sprains, cramps or heat exhaustion. Their readiness and professionalism gave peace of mind to everyone knowing help was available if needed.




The students' camaraderie was evident throughout the day. There was a strong emphasis on sportsmanship, whether it was through teammates thanking one another or friends applauding from the stands. In addition to planning the event, teachers and staff were crucial in inspiring and assisting the students.



It became evident by the end of the competition that it was a memorable day because of the record-breaking performances, unexpected victories, and the collective school spirit made it a day to cherish.

A Vote for the Future: Pointe Larue Secondary Selects New SNYA Representative for 2025

As students participated in the yearly Seychelles National Youth Assembly (SNYA) election, democracy was in full force at Pointe Larue Secondary School. Students had a chance to choose their representative for the 2025 SNYA cohort, a forum where young voices from all around Seychelles contribute to conversations on national concerns, at this eagerly awaited event.  The election process demonstrated how eager young people are to take on leadership roles, make decisions, and influence the course of their school and community. The Build-Up: Pushing for Students' Welfare and Reform Students started putting themselves forward to run for the coveted position of SNYA representative weeks before election day.
