Pointe Larue Secondary & Primary Celebrated Ash Wednesday

Image
Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of Lent— a 40-day season of fasting, prayer, and repentance in preparation for Easter—was observed by Pointe Larue Secondary students and staff on 5th March  at St. John Bosco Church. The school community came together for a solemn yet profoundly meaningful ceremony that encouraged introspection and spiritual rejuvenation. The Meaning of Ash Wednesday Ms. Hildre & Ms. Genevieve, CPPRC Dept One of the most important days in the Christian liturgical calendar is Ash Wednesday. Believers recognize their mortality and the necessity of God's favour on this day of repentance. As a potent sign of repentance and humility, ashes are applied to the forehead in the form of a cross. As a reminder of human weakness, the ashes—made from the burned palm branches of the previous year's Palm Sunday—reflect the biblical saying, " Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return" (Genesis 3:19). This holy day served as a chance for Poin...

The head teacher reminded the students that leadership is about responsibilities more than titles. This statement established the event's tone and reaffirmed the notion that all students, regardless of age, had the capacity to affect change.  Candidates for seats in the SNYA came for...
